AlgoLift is the no-code platform that tells traders whether their strategy passes a prop-firm evaluation — before they pay for it. Traders build strategies on a visual canvas, backtest them tick-by-tick on real order-book data, and simulate the full prop lifecycle across dozens of real firm rulesets. We're a small, senior, remote-first team building serious quantitative tooling for a market that's been stuck with spreadsheets and guesswork.
About the role
Every backtest fans out into per-month chunks that run across a fleet of spot EC2 workers, merge back through a Lambda pipeline, and land in S3 and DynamoDB. You'll own that pipeline — its throughput, correctness, and cost — and the AWS-signed submission path the frontend depends on.
What you'll do
- Own the distributed backtest pipeline: SQS fan-out, DynamoDB counters, S3 result merging, and the completion barrier.
- Improve throughput, latency, and cost across a spot-instance worker fleet.
- Harden the idempotency and failure handling that keep at-least-once delivery correct.
- Build the submission and aggregation services that bridge the frontend and the compute engine.
- Instrument the pipeline so we can see and fix bottlenecks before users feel them.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years building backend / distributed systems in production.
- Deep AWS experience — SQS, DynamoDB, S3, Lambda, EC2/autoscaling.
- Strong grasp of concurrency, idempotency, and eventual consistency.
- Comfortable in Python and/or TypeScript.
- A bias for reliability and observability, not just features.
Bonus points
- Experience with high-throughput data or job pipelines.
- Cost-optimization work on spot / preemptible fleets.
- Familiarity with Terraform or infrastructure-as-code.
