Trading small costs time, not much else

At $100 a day an attempt passes 14% of the time and takes 189 trading days. At $300 a day the odds are 24% and the wait falls to 52.5. There is no clock, so slow is allowed; a monthly fee is what punishes it.

Its best size for a no-edge trader: $1,200 a day

There a trader with no edge averages +$1,843 a year after every fee, and 37% of simulated years still end down. The rulebook, not the trader, is paying: the cap on losses and the payouts on lucky runs.

A slow evaluation rebills and carries on

Each month unpassed costs another $79, and the evaluation keeps its balance and days. The simulation charges every renewal.

Simulated results. They have inherent limitations. Read the full statement

These results are based on simulated or hypothetical performance results that have certain inherent limitations. Unlike the results shown in an actual performance record, these results do not represent actual trading. Also, because these trades have not actually been executed, these results may have under-or over-compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated or hypothetical trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to these being shown.

TradeDay's consistency rule

Fast Pass: the best day at most 45% of the evaluation profit; going over raises the target; at payouts, the best day at most 45% of the profit counted for the payout.

Quick Pay Intraday and Quick Pay End of Day: the best day at most 30% of the evaluation profit; going over raises the target.

Prohibited strategies

Trading practices the firm forbids (for example exploiting data delays, coordinated trading, or holding to avoid the rules), as it lists them.

Third-party or shared bots, high-frequency scalping (over 200 trades a day or seconds-long tick scalps), gaming sim fills or queue position, spoofing and layering, order splitting, trading gapped illiquid markets for stray fills, bracketing news, trading off the best bid or offer or on a slow feed, cross-account hedging or coordinated trading, multiple usernames, VPN/VPS location masking, trading within 2% of a price limit when funded, and sitting in the funding zone with tiny size.

Conduct

Inactivity closure

Minimum activity

Any other activity the firm requires to keep the account open (a trade every week, qualifying days in a rolling window), as it states it.

No minimum trading requirement or inactivity fee, but a Tradovate account not logged into for more than one calendar month is archived and treated as failed.

Activation deadline · Funded account

Calendar days after passing the evaluation within which the funded account must be activated (and its fee paid); null when there is none.

30 calendar days

Identity check

When the firm checks the trader's identity: before purchase, before funding, or before the first payout.

After passing and before funding: Riseworks runs KYC and AML checks for payouts, and the broker and clearing firm do so for Funded Live, with government ID and proof of address.

Breaking a rule

What the firm does when a rule is broken (a soft breach that pauses the day, a hard breach that closes the account, profits withheld), as it states it.

Hitting the maximum drawdown fails the evaluation or loses the funded account at once. Accidental breaches of times, products, position size or news are liquidated without failing, but repeat abuse loses the account; prohibited practices forfeit their profits and can mean a ban; a funded trader trading within 2% of a price limit loses the account.

Firm's discretion

Decisions the firm reserves to itself (reviews before a payout or a live move, closing accounts it judges to break the spirit of the rules).

Every first payout and every passed evaluation is reviewed and can be refused; TradeDay may extend an evaluation it thinks was coasted, choose when to move a trader to Funded Live, reduce position limits after withdrawals or losses, raise the live slippage limit, and decide what counts as prohibited conduct.

About TradeDay.

Fast Pass (25K to 150K) costs $65 to $265 a month, Quick Pay Intraday (25K to 150K) costs $45 to $162 a month and Quick Pay End of Day (25K to 150K) costs $54 to $180 a month. The least it costs to reach a funded account on the first attempt is $45, on the TradeDay QP Intraday 25K ($45 evaluation (1 month)).

Fast Pass: end of day, Quick Pay Intraday: intraday and Quick Pay End of Day: end of day. An end-of-day drawdown trails the highest balance at the day's close; an intraday one trails the highest balance reached at any moment, open profit included; a static one never moves.

In the evaluation, Fast Pass: none, Quick Pay Intraday: none and Quick Pay End of Day: none. Each plan's page has the funded account's limit and what happens when it is hit.

Fast Pass, first payout after 5 trading days, depending on the size, with a 80% split. Quick Pay Intraday, first payout after 1 trading day, with a 50% split. Quick Pay End of Day, first payout after 1 trading day, with a 50% split.

TradeDay allows automated and algorithmic trading with conditions. Your own automated system may run on NinjaTrader, Tradovate, TradingView, Jigsaw or Quantower; third-party bots, API access and identical trades across users are banned.

Up to 5, by TradeDay's own terms.
