Disclosures
Effective September 24, 2026
What the numbers on AlgoLift are, how they are made, and what they cannot tell you. The summary below is the short version; the sections after it are the full text.
- Results
- Every result on AlgoLift is simulated. None of it is a record of actual trading.
- Orders
- AlgoLift places no orders and holds no funds. Live execution is on the roadmap and is not available.
- Advice
- Education, information and research only: not financial, investment or trading advice.
- Risk
- Futures, equities and crypto trading carry substantial risk of loss.
Simulated performance
Backtests, resampled ranges, pass rates, payouts, optimization and walk-forward results, forward tests, and every example or demonstration on this site and in the product are simulated. The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission prescribes the following statement for simulated or hypothetical performance, and we treat it as applying to every simulated result we show:
These results are based on simulated or hypothetical performance results that have certain inherent limitations. Unlike the results shown in an actual performance record, these results do not represent actual trading. Also, because these trades have not actually been executed, these results may have under-or over-compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated or hypothetical trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to these being shown.
Across the site and the product you will also find a one-line version under simulated figures, "Simulated results. They have inherent limitations.", which opens to the full statement in place.
Past performance, whether actual or simulated, is not indicative of future results.
How the results are produced, and what they cannot tell you
Historical data. A backtest replays recorded tick-level market data through your strategy. Recorded data can contain gaps and errors, and the market it records will not repeat.
Modeled fills and costs. No order in a backtest reaches a market. Fills are modeled: at the recorded trade price, or, when you choose it, by walking recorded order-book depth and waiting in a modeled queue. Commissions, slippage and latency are the values you set or the model's estimates. A real order can fill at a different price, later, in part, or not at all.
Resampled ranges. Robustness and prop firm simulations resample and reorder your backtest's own trades thousands of times. They show the range of outcomes those trades could have produced in a different order. They cannot show trades the strategy never took, or market conditions the history does not contain.
Optimization. Choosing settings by searching over many runs fits them to the history they were chosen on, and the more settings searched, the more of a result can be luck. Walk-forward tests and holdout periods reduce this; they do not remove it.
Forward tests. A forward test runs a frozen strategy on market data recorded after it was frozen. It is still a simulation: no order is placed.
Prop firm simulations. Firm presets are modeled on each firm's publicly available rules, and firms change their rules. A simulated pass rate or payout is an estimate from your strategy's past trades, not a promise. Verify a firm's current rules with the firm.
The AI copilot. The copilot's explanations and strategy suggestions are generated by a language model. They can be wrong, and they are not advice.
Risk
Trading futures, equities and crypto involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for every investor.
Futures are leveraged: a small price move can cause a loss larger than the money in the account.
What AlgoLift is, and is not
AlgoLift is software for designing, testing and analyzing trading strategies. The information it presents is for general education, information and research purposes and does not constitute financial, investment or trading advice (Terms of Service, section 5).
AlgoLift does not place orders, hold customer funds, or connect to a brokerage or prop firm account. Every trading decision, and every order, is yours.
Live execution is on AlgoLift's roadmap and is not available.
Prop firms and trademarks
Prop firm names are trademarks of their respective owners. AlgoLift is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any prop firm.
Whether a firm allows a strategy, a tool or an automation is set by that firm's own rules. Check them before you trade an account.
