Node Reference

Every rule is a sentence of nodes.

Every node in AlgoLift's Visual Builder: what it does, its inputs and outputs, its settings, and the patterns it makes possible. Grouped by the job each node does in a strategy.

How a strategy reads

Almost every strategy has the same four layers, left to right:

  1. Values. Price, an indicator, a level, the time. Numbers that change bar by bar.
  2. Conditions. A Comparison, a Crossover, a Time Window. Each turns values into true or false.
  3. Logic. AND, OR, NOT and Tally combine conditions into one signal.
  4. Orders. The Entry opens a trade when its signal is true; the Trade node and the Bracket Order manage it until it closes.

If you're building your first strategy, start with the Visual Builder overview. The indicators and the price-action nodes have their own references: the Indicator Reference and the Price Action Reference.

Key Takeaway

One idea, one node. A crossover is one Crossover node, a time rule is one Time Window, a level is one Price History. If you catch yourself wiring four nodes to say one thing, there's usually a node that says it directly, and it'll be easier to read and harder to get one bar off.
